A Limerick parish priest has said mothers in his area have pleaded with gardaí to lock up their out-of-control children.

Father Pat Hogan, based in the suburb of Southill, said he has known mothers who say they can't handle their young teenage children, and have asked for them to be locked up to protect other people.
