Former Green Party leader Trevor Sargent says it is time to "move on" after the resignation of Deirdre de Burca.

Former Green Party leader Trevor Sargent says it is time to "move on" after the resignation of Deirdre de Burca.

She quit the party and her Seanad seat yesterday claiming the Greens had lost their identity in Government and were being badly led by John Gormley.

Food and Horticulture Minister Sargent said the affair is now a distraction to the Green Party's job in government.
