Sides in LRC talks to avert hospital strikes

Talks are taking place at the Labour Relations Commission to avert strike action at the four Bon Secours Hospitals across the country.

Management representatives and officials from SIPTU, the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation and IMPACT are attending the talks which got underway this afternoon.

Nurses and administration staff at the private hospitals in Dublin, Galway, Kerry and Cork are threatening to strike from next Monday over a 5% pay cut.

Phil Ni Sheaghdha from the INMO has said the hospital imposed the cuts "without the consent of workers".
