Six people were being questioned tonight over the murder of an innocent father-of-two as he tried to stop a gun attack.
Two women, one in her 20s and the other in her 30s, were arrested in Dublin as gardaí continued to hold a third woman, a man and two teenagers over the shooting of Wayne Doherty last July.
The 32-year-old was gunned down outside his parents’ house in Oakview Way, Hartstown, in the west of the city.
Gardaí believe the fatal shooting was linked to a row at a christening party between a family friend and another man earlier in the day.
The latest arrests were made under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act, with one woman held in Cabra and the other in Finglas.
The four others remained in custody.
