Man gets seven-year sentence for torture threats to doctor
A man who entered a hospital armed with a knife and threatened to “torture, kill and have sex with” a doctor giving him a psychiatric assessment has received a partially suspended seven-year sentence.
The knife fell out of Paul Kelly’s pocket while he was waiting in the hospital emergency department but he later told gardaí he planned to use it to stab a doctor in the leg. During the assessment he told the doctor that serial killer, Ted Bundy, appeared to him and told him to do things.
