DUP calls press conference for this evening

There are reports of developments in the negotiations between Sinn Féin and the DUP this afternoon.

The DUP has called a press conference called for this evening but it is not known if a deal on the transfer of justice and policing powers to Stormont has been reached.

Earlier the negotiating teams for both parties briefed their respective assembly members on lengthy talks that have been taking place at Hillsborough Castle.

The Taoiseach is on standby to travel to the North if a deal is reached.
