A man has been held overnight by gardaí in Limerick following a gangland-style shooting in the city yesterday evening.

A man has been held overnight by gardaí in Limerick following a gangland-style shooting in the city yesterday evening.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital after he was shot in the leg near Upper Carey's Road at about 5pm yesterday.

His condition is described as not life-threatening.

The suspect is being questioned at Roxboro Road garda station.
