PDFORRA wants assurances on Budget cuts

The association representing soldiers, sailors and aircrew of the Defence Forces, have called on the Government to re-affirm that the cuts to their Budget will be limited.

PDFORRA raised the concerns following publication of Budget figures which it says point to a greater level of cuts.

The Bord Snip report recommendations provided for the Defence Forces to be reduced in strength to 10,000 over three years.

Gerry Rooney from PDFORRA wants the Minister for Defence to stick to his commitments.
