A woman was found stabbed to death in an apartment today.

A woman was found stabbed to death in an apartment today.

Gardaí said the woman, in her 30s, was discovered in a residential complex in the grounds of the Irish Management Institute (IMI) a complex in the Sandyford area of south Dublin.

A man, believed to be the woman’s husband aged in his 40s, was taken by ambulance to St Vincent’s Hospital where he was undergoing surgery for knife wounds.

The couple were from Romania.

Gardaí said they were called to the apartment at 7am.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination and the state pathologist has been notified.

It is understood gardaí are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
