Man charged in connection with Arklow shopkeeper murder

A man has been charged with the murder of a shopkeeper who died after being stabbed at his premises in Co. Wicklow.

A man has been charged with the murder of a shopkeeper who died after being stabbed at his premises in Co. Wicklow.

Anthony Farrell (aged 19), with an address at Marian Villas in Arklow, appeared at Arklow District Court this morning charged with the killing.

Father-of-two John Deasy (aged 44) was fatally stabbed outside his shop on Coolgreany road in Arklow on November 25 last.

In court this morning, Anthony Farrell was granted legal aid and remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on February 3.
