AA urges drivers to be careful in foggy conditions

Mist and foggy conditions across many parts of the country have prompted safety warnings for motorists this evening.

AA roadwatch is advising drivers to slow down and use fog lights where necessary

The N80 Offaly/Carlow Rd through Tullamore in Co. Offaly has been badly affected this afternoon while there is still patchy fog in Co. Kildare on the N7/M7 near Naas and around Kilare town.

The N61 Roscommon/Athlone Rd through Roscommon Town is also experiencing dense fog and it remains a problem on the N4 via Carrick-on-Shannon in Co. Leitrim.

Those driving in Cavan town are also being urged to slow down because of the conditions.

AA roadwatch is advising drivers to use fog lights in affected areas but not to forget to switch them off afterwards.
