Baby left in Carlow Cathedral

A baby boy has been found in Carlow Cathedral by a member of the public.

It is believed a person visiting the cathedral heard a couple crying as they left.

The baby boy - thought to be about seven months old - was left in a buggy in the porch.

Gardaí are appealing for the couple to contact them.

It is thought that Gardaí have been in touch with the authorities in England as there may be a connection there.
