Garda suspected accused had explosives, Omagh trial court hears
A Garda Chief Superintendent told the Special Criminal Court today that he ordered the continued detention of Colm Murphy, accused of conspiracy in connection with the Omagh bombing, because he suspected he was involved in the possession of explosives in August 1998.
Chief Supt Colm Rooney said that he was aware that Murphy was in garda custody in Monaghan in February 1999 following his arrest.
