Consumers living in the Republic are still paying more for their natural gas than their counterparts in the North.

Even after the 8% cut announced this week, it has been revealed that the bills for gas customers in the North are still almost €200 a year cheaper on average.

The Consumers Association of Ireland describes the price gap as "outrageous".
