Probe continues into Slovak explosives incident
An investigation was ongoing today into an explosives find in Dublin yesterday that has been traced back to the Slovak authorities.
It emerged that a quantity of high grade explosives recovered from a Slovakian man's flat were planted on him at an airport in Bratislava in order to test security there.
It is understood the man did not know about the explosive and was allowed to carry the substance on a flight to Dublin.
Following a tip off from Slovak authorities, gardaà and army bomb disposal experts recovered the explosive from the man's flat on Dorset St in the north inner city.
The Slovak government has apologised and expressed "profound regret" over the incident.
