Andrews to step down as Red Cross chair

David Andrews steps down today as chairman of the Irish Red Cross.

The former Minister for Defence and Foreign Affairs has held the position since May 2000.

Paying tribute today the current Minister for Defence Wille O'Dea said Mr Andrews was a dedicated public servant who was held in high regard both nationally and internationally.
