Stormy weather hinders driving in Ireland

Stormy weather is affecting many parts of the country this evening.

Motorists are being advised that high winds and heavy rain are making driving conditions very dangerous.

The N11 is closed both ways at Jack Whites due to a multi-vehicle crash.

Conditions are very bad in the area and there are long delays as a result.

The Kill/Straffan Rd is now impassable due to flooding and fallen trees while the N7/Naas Rd inbound remains closed at Newlands Cross.

It follows a crash between a car and a truck there this morning in which a 21-year-old man was killed.
