Two appear in court in connection with attack in Ennis

Two men have appeared in court in Ennis charged in connection with an assault that left a 26-year-old man fighting for his life in hospital.

Brian Casey sustained serious injuries in the attack which happened near O'Connell Street in the town just before midnight on December 26.

Twenty-nine-year-old Harry Dinan of Waterpark Heights in Ennis and 22-year-old Kevin Dinan of Clarehill in Clarecastle both appeared before Ennis District Court today, charged with assault causing harm.

Gardaí objected to bail and that objection was upheld.
