Dempsey: Govt wants to cut semi-state labour costs

Transport Minister Noel Dempsey has said the Government wants to cut labour costs in semi-state companies like CIE and the ESB.

However, he says it will be up to the boards of these companies - and not the Government - to examine the need for their staff to take paycuts.
