New 'green' scrappage scheme announced

Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan has announced that VRT reliefs of up to €2,500 for plug-in hybrid cars is to be extended for further two years to Dec 2012.

In addition, the Minister announced a new scrappage scheme from January 1 for the full year of €1,500 for a 10-year or older car traded in for environmentally friendly car.
