Pipe bombs thrown into parked cars
Pipe bombs were thrown into two parked cars in Derry, police said.
The devices were hurled into the vehicles in the Creggan area after their windows were smashed.
The first incident happened on Circular Road around 8.25pm last night with the second around 10 minutes later at the nearby Iniscarn Crescent.
No-one was in the cars at the time.
British army bomb disposal experts were called to the scene to make the devices safe.
A gang of youths subsequently assembled in the Circular Road area and police worked with community representatives in a bid to disperse them.
Petrol bombs and other missiles were thrown at police officers from the 50 strong crowd of youths.
