ESB on alert due to severe weather warning
The ESB is monitoring reservoir water levels on the River Shannon and Liffey following a severe weather warning alert.
Heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected to affect all parts of the country today.
The ESB is continuing to discharge water from the Poulaphouca reservoir.
Elsewhere, a high tide passed without any reported flooding in Cork city earlier this morning.
Authorities there had warned that a combination of increased tide levels, strong winds and heavy rain may lead to further flooding. Another spring tide will occur at 7.40pm.
