Dublin shooting victim in 'serious' condition

A man was in a serious condition in hospital tonight after a shooting in south Dublin.

The 23-year-old was blasted in the chest and arm at around 8pm on the Allenton estate in Tallaght.

It is understood that the man answered the door of a house to a gunman who opened fire.

The victim was rushed to hospital for treatment and the scene of the attack remains sealed off for forensic examination.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with information to contact Tallaght Garda station.
