Union leader warns members allowances cuts may be inevitable
A senior public sector union figure has warned that members may need to sacrifice certain allowances in order to avoid a pay cut.
The Irish Independent reports today that the general secretary of the Public Service Executive Union, Tom Geraghty, has made his comments in an internal letter.
It states that a number of options have emerged during talks with the Government over their plan to cut €1.3bn from the public sector pay bill.
