'Missing' teenage German reunited with family

A missing-persons case in Germany has had a happy ending, thanks to a campaign in Irish newspapers.

A missing-persons case in Germany has had a happy ending, thanks to a campaign in Irish newspapers.

Nineteen-year-old Thomas Muffke disappeared from his home in Germany in September, sparking major concern for his welfare and a letter-writing campaign by his family lawyer.

A hostel owner spotted the letter in the Galway Advertiser and emailed Thomas' mother to say he was safe and well, and watching TV in her hostel.

He has now been reunited with his family who are thanking the people of Ireland for their support.
