Hotels and leisure centres offer free showers in flood areas

A number of hotels and sports facilities in Cork city are offering showers to residents affected by the water crisis.

Thousands of families are without running water for a sixth day as repair works continue at the Lee Road Water Treatment Plant.

Meanwhile, a hotel in Cork which was severely damaged by the recent floods has had to let all of its temporary staff go.

The owners of the Kingsley Hotel in Victoria Cross say every effort is being made to keep on its 130 full-time staff.
