Cowen warns of more floods next week
The Taoiseach Brian Cowen has said the danger of flooding in the South and West has not passed.
Met Eireann is expecting the heavy rain and winds to continue into next week with Galway Bay and the Shannon Estuary particularly at risk.
The Emergency Taskforce has been meeting to co-ordinate the reponse to the flooding with Clare, Galway and Cork and parts of Tipperary the worst affected.
The National Director for Fire and Emergency Planning Sean Hogan has said all relief agencies are co-operating in the relief effort.
