Sixteen rescued from Cork blaze
Sixteen people have had to be rescued from a burning apartment complex in Cork last night.
Fire crews had to use breathing apparatus to help some of those trapped in the building on Dominic Street.
The blaze started in the foyer of the four storey building on Dominic Street just before 4am.
Four units of Cork City Fire Brigade rushed to the scene, and had to use the specialist equipment and ladders to rescue a number of the occupants who were trapped upstairs.
The 16 were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, but unusually nobody required hospital treatment.
An investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched.
