Man seriously injured in Limerick city shooting

A 27-year-old man has been seriously injured in a shooting in the Southill area of Limerick city this morning.

The victim is in a critical condition in hospital following the incident, which happened at a house in O'Malley Park at around 8am.

A 40-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the shooting and are being questioned at Roxboro Garda Station.

The pair and the victim are all believed to be from the O'Malley Park area.

A large area around the house has been cordoned off for technical examination.
