UDA killer Knight has early-release licence revoked

Loyalist killer Torrens Knight is back in prison this morning after having his early-release licence revoked by the British government.

Knight was a member of the UDA gang that massacred eight people in a gun attack at the Rising Sun bar in Greysteel, Co Derry, on Halloween night in 1993.

He was also convicted of murdering four Catholic builders in nearby Castlerock earlier that year and had been serving 12 life sentences before being released in 2000 under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement.

Northern Secretary Shaun Woodward last night revoked Knight's early-release licence after he was found guilty last Thursday of assaulting two sisters in a Coleraine bar.

The 40-year-old was detained in Coleraine yesterday and sent back to prison to serve out the remainder of his 12 life sentences for the 1993 murders.
