12 people rescued from Galtee Mountains

Twelve people have been rescued from the Galtee Mountains after getting lost during poor weather conditions yesterday.

A search operation involving around 30 mountain rescue personnel was launched yesterday afternoon after the group lost their bearings on Galtymore.

The weather conditions hampered the search, but the walkers were eventually located at around 9.30pm and brought to safety.

Nobody was injured during the ordeal.
