Woman airlifted to hospital in Kerry

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after getting into difficulty while out walking in the Annascaul mountain area in Kerry.

The alarm was raised shortly after 2pm this afternoon and the Kerry mountain rescue team together with the Shannon coastguard helicopter were dispatched.

It is understood the woman did not sustain any injury but needed medical assistance.

She is now being treated at Kerry General Hospital.
