The Government has pledged more than €1.3m in emergency funding to help alleviate the food crisis in Ethiopia.

Figures released by the Ethiopian Government yesterday indicated that the number of people in need of emergency food relief has increased to 6.2 million.

Minister of State for Overseas Development Peter Power says he is deeply concerned about the increase.
