Calls for plastic bag levy to be extended to paper bags

Environment Minister John Gormley is being called on to extend the plastic bag levy to paper bags.

Friends of the Irish Environment have written to Minister Gormley on the matter.

They claim that international studies show that paper bags have a greater adverse impact than plastic bags for a number of reasons.
