New community school opens in Ballinteer

Education Minister Batt O’Keeffe today opened the new €14m Ballinteer Community School in Dublin 16.

The new school building can accommodate up to 600 pupils and 40 staff.

Speaking at the school, Minister O’Keeffe said: "I’m delighted to be here in Balinteer to celebrate the official opening of this impressive new school which will enhance teaching and learning for students in the area for many years."

The minister said the new school was a "fine example" of the Government’s ongoing school-building programme, which has a €614m allocation for this year.
