More than 300 people were waiting on trolleys in A&E units around the country this morning, according to figures from the Irish Nurses Organisation.

More than 300 people were waiting on trolleys in A&E units around the country this morning, according to figures from the Irish Nurses Organisation.

The INO says the worst overcrowding was at St Vincent's Hospital and Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, both of which had 30 people waiting for admission to a hospital bed.

Twenty-nine people were also waiting on trolleys at the Mater Hospital in Dublin and at Cork University Hospital.
