O’Donoghue to seek re-election in Kerry South

John O'Donoghue is reportedly planning to seek re-election in his Kerry South constituency at the next general election.

There has been speculation that Mr O'Donoghue may decide to leave politics after he was forced to resign as Ceann Comhairle after details of his state-funded spending on overseas travel emerged.

However, John O'Leary, a former Fianna Fáil TD in Kerry South, says Mr O'Donoghue confirmed to him during a telephone call yesterday that he would seek re-election.

Mr O'Leary told Radio Kerry that his colleague wanted the people of Kerry to judge whether it was right to remove him from office.
