Two-year-old Irish girl abducted in New Zealand

Authorities in New Zealand are treating the disappearance of an Irishman's baby daughter as an abduction.

Two-year-old Aisling Symes, whose father is originally from Waterford, disappeared on Monday.

She was last seen playing outside a house in the Auckland suburb of Henderson, where she lives with her parents and sister.

An Asian woman in her mid-30s is reported to have been seen with Aisling before she disappeared.

A major search operation is underway and the police have appealed to whoever abducted the girl to come forward and leave her in a safe place.
