Two arrested in Coleraine murder probe

Police in the North have arrested two men in connection with the murder of Kevin McDaid in Co Derry earlier this year.

The men were detained in the Coleraine area this morning.

Mr McDaid, a Catholic community worker, was beaten to death by a loyalist mob following Rangers' victory in the Scottish Premier League title race last May.

More than 10 people have already been charged in connection with the father-of-four's killing.

The PSNI says today's arrests are linked to events surrounding the murder and not the attack itself.
