Two arrested after fatal Limerick crash

Gardaí have arrested two men in connection with a fatal crash outside Limerick city last night.

A 53-year-old man died after the car he was driving collided with a jeep on the N24 at Ahabeg just before 8.30pm

A female passenger in the car was also taken to hospital, but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The occupants of the jeep fled the scene of the collision, and Gardaí subsequently arrested two men in their 40s.

They are being questioned this morning at Roxboro Road garda station.
