Two held over hit-and-run released

A 21-year-old man and a minor who were being held by Gardaí in connection with a suspected hit-and-run in Co. Galway have been released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A 19-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a car on the Moycullen to Barna Road at about 2.45am this morning.

His body was removed from the scene earlier today and a post mortem will be carried out tomorrow.

The two males are being questioned at Mill Street Garda station.
