Collins murder: Extra time given to question man

Gardaí have been granted an extra 48 hours to question an 18-year-old man in connection with the murder of Roy Collins in Limerick.

Gardaí have been granted an extra 48 hours to question an 18-year-old man in connection with the murder of Roy Collins in Limerick.

At a special sitting of Limerick District Court today, gardaí from Roxboro station successfully applied for the extension.

The 18-year-old was originally arrested in Meelick, Co. Clare, at around 9am last Tuesday morning under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.

A 23-year-old man is already charged with the murder of 34-year-old Roy Collins at his family's business in Roxboro Shopping Centre on April 9.
