A team from the Army Bomb Disposal unit has afternoon dealt with a badly corroded grenade in Inchicore in Dublin this afternoon.

A team from the Army Bomb Disposal unit has afternoon dealt with a badly corroded grenade in Inchicore in Dublin this afternoon.

It was found during excavations at an ESB sub-station on Kylemore Way and was made safe by way of a controlled explosion.

The explosive was in poor condition and the scene was declared safe at 3.05pm.

The bomb disposal unit has dealt with 155 call-outs so far this year.
