EU regulator approves two swine flu vaccines

The European Medicines Agency has approved two swine flu vaccines made by the pharmaceutical firms GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis.

The agency is recommending that the EC grant licences for the use of the vaccines across Europe.

Another vaccine by pharmaceutical company Baxter is still being considered by the EMA.

The HSE says it hopes to begin vaccinating Irish people next month.
