Large majority of farmers to support Lisbon

A significant majority of farmers intend to support the Lisbon Treaty next month, according to a poll commissioned by the Farmers Journal and the IFA.

Sixty-nine per cent of respondents said they intended to vote 'Yes', compared to just 15% who said they would be voting 'No'.

The remaining 16% were undecided.

The IFA has called for a 'Yes' vote and says it will be pushing this message at the National Ploughing Championships over the coming days.
