Reports today disclosed further details of money spent by John O'Donoghue in his position as Ceann Comhairle.

It claims Mr O'Donoghue's staff bill is triple what it was under the office's previous holder, with a wage bill of almost €500,000.

It follows earlier revelations about his large expenses as Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism.

Enda Kenny said the position of Ceann Comhairle should remain non-political but wants the claims investigated.
