Yesterday, politicians were bluntly told that we have to re-think our education policy to create the jobs of the future.

They were told in very direct terms that the Government's failure to develop broadband, education as well as research and development is holding this country back from progress.

Today, the delegates will discuss innovation, the promotion of Ireland and how new media should be used to encourage foreign direct investment.

Third World campaigner and musician Bob Geldof said Ireland needs to spend more on research and development.
