Man remains in custody in connection with Waterford death

Gardaí in Waterford are continuing to question a man in his 30s in connection with the death of a woman at a house in the city yesterday morning.

The 30-year-old mother-of-three was found with serious head injuries at a house in the Kilcohan area shortly after 2.30am.

She was pronounced dead in hospital shortly afterwards.

Reports this morning say she was babysitting for her twin sister, who lived in the house.

A man was arrested at the scene and is still being held at Waterford garda station this morning.
