Former President Mary Robinson has commended the bravery of those affected by homicide at a Remembrance Day for victims, in Limerick.

More than 200 friends and relatives of people who have been murdered attended the event.

The names of over 500 murder victims were read out during the ceremony in St Saviour's Church in Limerick city centre.

Dr Robinson praised those attending for their willingness to help others through the grieving process.
