Woman charged with husband's death in Tallaght
A woman appeared in court today charged with the murder of her husband in Tallaght on Friday.
Paul Byrne, who was in his late 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene following a fatal stabbing, at a house in Pairc Gleann Trasna, in Aylesbury, in Tallaght on Friday evening.
His body was removed to Tallaght Hospital where a post mortem was carried out.
The defendant, Tanya Doyle (aged 36), of 25, Pairc Gleann Trasna, Tallaght was brought before Dublin District Court today where she was charged with murder.
Garda John O’Connell told Judge Ann Ryan that he arrested the defendant at 8.45pm on Friday last. He said she was conveyed to Tallaght garda station where she was detained.
Garda O’Connell said Ms Doyle was released from detention at 12.45 am on Sunday and charged 45 minutes later.
He also told Judge Ryan that the accused was cautioned and made no reply when charged.
Garda O’Connell made an application for a one-week remand in custody.
Judge Ryan remanded Ms Doyle in custody to appear again at Dublin District Court on September 14 next.
She also consented to an application by solicitor Kevin Tunney to grant legal aid to Ms Doyle, who remained seated and silent during her court appearance this morning.
